Dave is an original member of New Direction, as he joined with Vern in October 2005. Dave gave his heart to the Lord in 1997. He was
soon introduced to Southern Gospel music and it became his passion. Dave is multi-talented, in that he can sing all four parts (not at the same time), but generally does an outstanding job at lead. Dave has taken on the responsibility of handling the sound for the trio. Dave and his wife, Guin, have two children, and five grandchildren. They reside in Hobart, Indiana.
Vern Grable
Tenor/Manager
Vern was born and raised in southern Ohio. He was one of seven children born to a pastor and his wife. The children learned
early on how to harmonize and sing parts. Vern recorded his first album at the tender age of 5. He continued singing with his family until he moved to Illinois, following high school to attend Olivet Nazarene University. There he sang with The Olivetians. He continued singing with various groups and in October 2005 felt the Lord leading him to organize New Direction. Vern and his wife, Dee, have 4 children and 11 grandchildren. They make their home in Bradley. Illinois.
Randy DenBraven, Baritone/360 Tech
Randy is the junior member of the group, having joined Vern and Dave in January 2009. He has quickly established himself as a valuable member of New Direction. Randy was raised on the east coast by Godly parents, and graduated from Trinity University with a double music major. He traveled with a college group, as well as a brief stint with the original Couriers in the 70's. Randy and wife, Stacy, are parents of three daughters, and their dog, Hannah, and live in Genoa, Illinois.

New Direction is a vocal trio who travels on the weekends, sharing a blend of traditional and progressive southern gospel music. Based in Bradley, Illinois, the trio travels, by invitation, across denominational lines to present a clear vision of the hope in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. New Direction was formed in October of 2005. Vern Grable and Dave Mitchell had met about a year earlier, and wanted to get together at some point to sing; however, both had other obligations at the time. After leaving the quartet he had been traveling with, Vern felt God's leading to form a group back in his home area, so he called his friend, Dave, and was happy to find that Dave was available. They began the search for a third member to form a trio. They found a young family man, Seth Bracewell, in Dyer, Indiana. New Direction Trio quickly became an area favorite, and all was well until Seth announced his plans to move his family out of the country. After two more years of searching, they found themselves auditioning Randy DenBraven from Genoa, Illinois, in January 2009. From that first meeting, the three knew that they had a sound that was "something special". The guys have tremendous harmony and compliment one another in extaordinary ways on the stage. All three of the guys were originally tenors; however, they have adapted beautifully to sing their three part harmonies. Vern sings tenor, Dave takes the lead, and Randy fills in with a rich baritone. Occasionally, friends will join the guys to bring a unique sound. The trio has appeared with The Greenes, The Kingsmen, HisSong, Driven Quartet, The Hoppers, Brian Free & Assurance, The Browns, Mark Trammell Quartet, Tribute Quartet, New Ground, and The Pfeifers. In October 2010, the trio signed a recording contract with Mansion Entertainment/Manor House Music, and have become a part of Arnie Shipp Family's Gospel Cruise Fest. As of February 2011, New Direction is affiliated with Love Song Talent Agency.
